  • 7 jalapeños halved and deseeded
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 3 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 1 egg beaten

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and crumbled bacon.
  • Spread a thin layer of the cheese and bacon mixture onto each halved jalapeño.

Assembly

  • Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet and cut it into 7 strips, about 1 inch wide.
  • Place a filled jalapeño half on one end of a pastry strip, then carefully twist the pastry around the jalapeño to secure it.
  • Repeat with the remaining jalapeños and pastry strips, then arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheet.

Baking

  • Brush the tops of the pastry twists with the beaten egg.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Notes

For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in. You can also experiment with different cheese blends for varied flavors.
