  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewiness, underbake the cookies slightly. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon for a warmth of flavor. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
