  • 1 bag Potting soil

Growing Environment

  • 2-3 Planting pots or container at least 6 inches deep
  • as needed Water
  • 6-8 hours Sunlight or grow light daily

Optional (for advanced growers)

  • as needed Liquid fertilizer diluted

For the Wraps (not grown)

  • 1 lb Cooked ground chicken or tofu
  • 4 oz Water chestnuts
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce

Instructions

Planting

  • Fill your chosen pots or container with potting soil, leaving about an inch of space from the rim.
  • Sprinkle lettuce seeds evenly over the soil surface, then lightly cover them with a thin layer of soil.

Care and Growth

  • Water the seeds gently to keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid overwatering.
  • Place the pots in a location that receives 6-8 hours of sunlight daily, or use a grow light if natural light is insufficient.
  • Once seedlings emerge, thin them to ensure adequate spacing for growth, and consider applying diluted liquid fertilizer every two weeks.

Harvesting

  • Harvest outer leaves as needed when they reach a desirable size, allowing the inner leaves to continue growing.
  • For an entire head of lettuce, cut the plant at its base when it reaches full maturity, typically within 30-60 days.

Preparing Lettuce Wraps (not part of growing)

  • While your lettuce grows, prepare the filling for your wraps by cooking ground chicken or tofu with water chestnuts, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce.
  • Once the lettuce is harvested, wash and crisp the leaves, then use them to wrap your prepared filling for a fresh and healthy meal.

Notes

For continuous harvesting, consider staggering your planting schedule every few weeks. This method ensures a fresh supply of lettuce for your wraps and other dishes. Remember to check soil moisture regularly, especially in warmer climates, to prevent wilting and promote healthy growth.
