  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Glaze

  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab a large mixing bowl.
  • Combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper in the bowl, then gently mix everything until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.

Baking & Glaze

  • Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes.
  • While baking, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, mustard, and garlic powder in a small bowl to make the glaze; after 45 minutes, spread this glaze over the meatloaf and continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until cooked through.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can sauté the onion and bell pepper before adding them to the meatloaf mixture. Ensure the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C) to be fully cooked. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes after baking before slicing to help it retain its juices.
