Yogurt Base

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt with live cultures

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2-4 tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste

Preparation

  • Heat milk in a saucepan until it reaches 180°F (82°C), then remove from heat and let it cool to 110°F (43°C).
  • Whisk in the plain yogurt with live cultures until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into clean jars or a yogurt maker and incubate for 6-8 hours, or until thick.

Flavoring

  • Once the yogurt is set, gently fold in the cocoa powder, sliced fresh strawberries, and honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • Stir until evenly distributed, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For thicker yogurt, you can strain it through a cheesecloth-lined colander after incubation. Adjust sweetness to your preference and experiment with other fruit or chocolate variations.
