Ingredients
  

Cherry Cheesecake Mixture

  • 9 cups rice or corn Chex cereal
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Preparation

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Stir in the cherry pie filling and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Place the Chex cereal in a large bowl. Pour the cherry cheesecake mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  • Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag. Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake vigorously until the cereal is completely covered in sugar.

Notes

For an extra cherry flavor, you can add a few drops of cherry extract to the mixture. Store the puppy chow in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
