  • 1 package Active dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1/2 cup Warm water 118 ml
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour 240g
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1/2 cup Melted butter 113g
  • 1 1/2 cups Warm milk 355 ml
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • In a large bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then stir in the melted butter, warm milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the yeast mixture, then gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined and no lumps remain.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the batter rise in a warm place for at least 1 hour, or ideally, refrigerate it overnight.
  • Preheat your waffle iron, pour about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter onto it, close, and cook until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve the waffles immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, allow the batter to rest in the refrigerator overnight; this deepens the flavor and enhances the texture. Be sure your waffle iron is hot before adding batter to ensure crispiness.
