Preparation

  • Cut the chicken thighs into 1-inch pieces and season them with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to create the sauce.
  • In a separate small bowl, combine cornstarch and water to make a slurry; set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of oil.
  • Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the cooked chicken.
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer and then stir in the cornstarch slurry.
  • Cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.

Serving

  • Serve the Honey Garlic Chicken immediately over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in a little soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the amount of honey and garlic to your personal taste preference.
