Preparation

Cooking Protein and Vegetables

  • Season your lean protein with salt, pepper, and half of the fresh herbs, then cook it until fully done using your preferred method (baking, grilling, or pan-frying). Toss the chopped vegetables with olive oil, minced garlic, and the remaining fresh herbs, then roast or grill them alongside the protein until tender-crisp.

Assembling the Meal

  • While the protein and vegetables are cooking, prepare your whole grains according to package instructions. Once everything is cooked, combine the protein, vegetables, and whole grains, then drizzle with lemon or lime juice and a slice of avocado if desired.
